How did Allan Christensen arrive at the answer to Albert Einstein's riddle

Curtis Monday, March 03, 2008 at 10:59 PM

If I know Allan, it involved a liberal application of beer and five Hooters girls.

Do you mean 'lying?', then happily

I don't think his answer is right.  There is no evidence stating that any of the people owned fish.  I mean the German could have owned Monkeys and then no one would have owned fish.  We are assuming that someone owned fish.  I do not think that that is a valid assumption.

Answer: "If any one of the 5 people in the five houses owned fish, it would have to be the German.  But he could also have any animal as a pet except for cats, birds, dogs, and horses."

That *someone* owned a fish is an integral part of the riddle.  It is not so much an assumption as a direct inference of the question.

i solved it from the street perspective, and so the left reference reversed, comes out as the dane has the fish!

German has the fish no doubts !!

Guest Friday, September 05, 2008 at 4:45 PM

no... really it is a very logical riddle i answered just in an hour ... you just have to find opposing statements and statements which agree to other statements without opposing another.. just like that.. i did not assume anything..
