Woody was great, but there was always a tiny little resentment for him taking over Coach's place on the show.  (Coach may have been the funniest character.)  Anyhow, George Wendt had a dry, deadpan delivery that was perfect in its subtlety.

List of fat guys who are funny...

The aforementioned John Candy, John Belushi, Chris Farley, John Goodman, Louie Anderson (when he was still funny, before he became just sad)

And then there's the old-school greats like Johnathon Winters, Jackie Gleason, Lou Costello, Oliver Hardy.
